Supporting School Nurses: GoHealth Urgent Care & Health System Partners Pilot Community Wellness Initiative
A School Brand Activation That Strengthens Community Health
GoHealth Urgent Care's latest initiative is putting wellness directly into the hands of the people who need it most: school nurses, students, and families. In collaboration with four of its health system partners, GoHealth launched a coordinated health care school activation to deliver Winter Wellness Kits to 250 schools across the country.
This Activation Brought Together
Houston, TX - Memorial Hermann-GoHealth Urgent Care
New York - Northwell Health-GoHealth Urgent Care
Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma - Mercy-GoHealth Urgent Care
Pennsylvania and West Virginia - UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care
Together, these partners reached schools in their local communities with practical supplies that support student health, reduce preventable absences, and extend wellness resources beyond the classroom and into students' homes.
What's Inside Each Wellness Kit:
Each kit was thoughtfully assembled to support both school nurses and the students they serve. Items included bandages, mini tissue boxes, reusable hot and cold packs, deodorants, stickers, coloring sheets, crayon packs, take-home wellness materials, and informational resources for families.
By equipping school nurses with the tools they use most, measurable value: fewer disruptions in the classroom, healthier students, and stronger ties between local health systems and the families they serve.

Why Health Care School Activation Matters:
School nurses are often the first line of defense for student health. A well-designed health care school activation builds trust, supports school staff, and reinforces a wellness organization’s role as a true community partner. For GoHealth Urgent Care and its partners, this initiative reflects a long-term commitment to community wellness, preventive care, and the everyday heroes working in school clinics.
“I hope more health care organizations decide to do this...this idea is absolutely genius because it helps the community out so much!”
What School Nurses are Saying:
"Thank you for the Winter Wellness Kit for our students. We have been using all of the supplies for the staff and students here, and we greatly appreciate them! The tissues have been very useful in keeping germs in the classrooms, the deodorant has been helpful with the middle school students and learning about good hygiene, and the bandaids and cups have been very useful in the clinic. All of the supplies have been used, and we appreciate them! God bless you for your generosity."
— St. Laurence Catholic School
My school tremendously benefited from the Winter Wellness Kit. Our school ranges from K–6th grade, and all students benefited from the bracelets and the tissues. The younger kids especially loved the crayons and the stickers, and loved to take one and wear it once they left the nurse's office. The deodorants were a big hit for the older students. We gave some out to those kids who do not have a home and need toiletries such as deodorants and tissues. They were very happy and thankful for receiving them. We have all items displayed in the office, and the students help themselves when they come in. All these resources have made them very happy and very appreciative."

Thank you for the Winter Wellness Kit! This arrived just in time for our Kindergarten registration events, where we will welcome around 100 new families! It was nice to have something tangible as a welcome, and an opportunity to share a community resource is always helpful.

The Winter Wellness kit has been very beneficial for our school community. As the school nurse in an inner city, many students do not always have access to basic winter wellness supplies. These resources allow me to support students who come to the health office needing personal hygiene supplies. Providing these items helps students feel more comfortable, cared for, and ready to return to class. Meeting these basic needs also helps remove small barriers that can impact a student's ability to focus and participate in learning. Overall, these resources help support the health and well-being of our students throughout the winter months.
